Donor Development Officer. Based London SE1
£22,208-£25,037 pa plus up to 10% pension contribution

WaterAid is the UK's only major charity dedicated exclusively to the provision of safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world’s poorest people. Now is a particularly exciting time for WaterAid as we have just launched our new five-year strategy, which by 2010 aims to see us bringing safe water to at least one million people in Africa and Asia each year.

To achieve this and our other strategic goals we estimate we need to increase our annual income to £35 million (from just over £21 million last year). This is where you come in.

Due to recent growth, we are seeking a full-time Donor Development Officer to join our small, friendly and growing Project Funding team. This new post will be crucial in developing the fundraising programme for WaterAid’s most generous individual supporters, building on successes and taking forward our ambitious plans.

Managing relationships with existing and potential major donors, you will carry out research, organise events and overseas visits, and promote new and alternative ways of giving. You will also work closely with existing
Donor Development staff to identify opportunities and take the major donor programme in new directions. In short, you’ll get to know WaterAid inside and out.

Ideally you will have had at least two years’ experience in a marketing or fundraising environment. You will need imagination, energy and initiative, excellent communication and project management skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks professionally and to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. Ref: MD/14/G.

For further information download a Donor Development Officer application pack or email jobs@wateraid.org. No CVs will be accepted.

Closing date: 11 November 2005. Interviews: w/c 14 and 21 November 2005.

PA to Finance Director. Based London SE1
£25,037-£28,328 pa plus up to 10% pension contribution

Have you got at least five years’ admin/secretarial experience, three of which have been spent assisting a director in a senior role? Then read on.

We are looking for a highly organised and outgoing person with good communication skills and lots of initiative to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Finance Director. From managing a diary, drafting correspondence and making travel arrangements, through to setting up and maintaining systems and acting as a knowledgeable first point of contact, it’s a varied role that also involves supporting the work of the Company Secretary.

With a recognised qualification in office administration, a full range of secretarial skills and a good knowledge of word processing and PowerPoint, you enjoy being part of a team that has a real ‘can-do’ attitude. What’s more, with experience that includes at least three years’ supporting a Company Secretary, you are used to working with confidential and sensitive information and comfortable taking ownership of tasks. Above all however, it’s your positive and helpful disposition, excellent time management skills and motivation to make a real contribution to the team’s work that will see you excel.
