Over one billion people do not have access to safe water and over two billion do not have access to adequate sanitation. WaterAid and its partners can only feasible help a fraction of this number through their project work and so in addition to direct implementation work WaterAid campaigns to help ensure that the world’s poorest people gain access to these basic services and take their first steps out of poverty.
